A Brief History
From small beginnings, over three decades, Pyramid has grown into a prolific creative agency, now with a strong international reputation.
Following the rebranding of Courtaulds PLC, Pyramid secured the role of brand guardians for this leading global chemical and textile manufacturer, a relationship which eventually spanned over 18 years. With the addition of public sector contracts including the newly formed Business Link and the Learning & Skills Council, the agency grew organically, but retaining its values of providing personal service.
The credibility of Blue Chip clients, subsequently saw Pyramid managing both the main and subsidiary brands for UK Top 100 solicitors, Wragge & Co, whilst creating and implementing a new corporate identity for Inspec. During an aggressive seven year growth strategy, this international manufacturer grew its turnover by 1000% to £350m, with Pyramid applying the Inspec’s identity to each of its regular acquisitions.
During this period we also managed the branding and launch of Coventry & Warwickshire’s new Chamber of Commerce, brought the Regional Enterprise Development Initiative alive on behalf of Advantage West Midlands and rebuilt awareness of Business Link during its relaunch, exceeding all expected outcomes.
In recent years, Pyramid climbed the ranks at Silverstone, becoming lead agency at ‘The Home of British Motorsport’ for many years. Promoting international events including MotoGP, British Touring Cars and Formula 1. Responsibilities also included the circuits retail offer, combining a programme of online activity with direct marketing, press advertising and promotions. This resulted in a viral game, which saw Christmas sales exceed all previous records.
Our relationship with Excel Logistics also followed a similar path, eventually working as this leading logistics provider’s brand guardians until their acquisition by DHL in December 2005. Through diligent application of DHL’s identity and corporate guidelines we soon gained the professional confidence of numerous departments and separate business divisions within DHL – effectively becoming their brand guardians in the UK. Our experience and in-house capability made it no surprise that we won best Graduate Recruitment Website for DHL, beating some of the biggest names in the industry.
We are now listed with their parent company Deutsche Post as an approved global supplier and we were their first choice to develop and implement a time-critical branding for the newly created NHS Supply Chain upon their successful tender for the NHS logistics contract.
Whether logistics, technology, social housing, heavy manufacturing, construction and third-sector to retail, leisure, healthcare and life sciences, our abilities can be characterised by the capacity to add real value, regardless of market sector.
This trend continues with current clients, including the UK’s 5th most visited tourist attraction, Flamingo Land Resort. We helped refocus and refine customer communications with major website redevelopments for Flamingo Land, growing the site from less than 50,000 (average) visits per month in 2007 to nearly 1 million per month this year.
Much has changed over the past three decades but Pyramid today is the same creative powerhouse it always has been. Client expectations are now greater than ever, presenting a challenge we happily embrace. This drives our own expectation to exceed expectations at every opportunity for all our clients, including new successes for multinational imaging company Ricoh, leading infrastructure services provider, Balfour Beatty, and Amadeus, the world’s foremost travel management software provider.
Every day our experience grows, allowing us to transfer successful ideas across markets and geographies. It’s a formula that maximises benefits to our clients and we’re sure has been the cornerstone of the agency’s history of long term, productive relationships.
Welcome to Pyramid – how can we help?
