Banro sings Pyramid's praises

It's always nice to hear positive feedback from delighted clients. As such, we thought we would share this official testimonial from Banro, who have recently enjoyed a merger with construction giant Kingspan...

Banro are a producer of steel components for the construction industry. After a takeover by a young and dynamic Director team, Banro commissioned Pyramid to develop a holistic brand strategy for the business, focusing heavily on core brand values of engineering quality, design creativity and commercial affordability.

Pyramid skillfully facilitated the Banro management team to develop the brand values and to understand how these are applied through operational activity and customer interfaces. Pyramid found clear and simple messages to define and communicate the brand values within and outside the business.

This was made visible through a carefully constructed suite of billboards and literature so that the brand values permeated the internal team, customer relations and supply chain.

Building on the core brand values, Pyramid devised a crisp, engineered visual brand and devised guidelines for use of the imagery in literature, communication media and advertising. The visual brand included everything from corporate logo, product logos, typefaces through to branded workwear. The Banro team were galvanized by the visual brand.

Chief Executive Jonathan Evans commented:

"The Banro brand developed with Pyramid is something the whole team feels proud of and can unite around. It clearly conveys our values of engineering quality and design innovation. We are delighted with it."

With a uniting visual brand in place, Pyramid set about rolling this out across an entire suite of product technical and sales literature with a range of four suited brochures. This was encapsulated in stylish binder systems. A brand new website was created from scratch including an extensive technical reference section with numerous downloadable resources and full search facility.

A range of mailshot campaigns was created to reinforce each brand value by way of a specific project example to bring the brand values to life and demonstrate how they are applied to real Banro construction projects. Finally a comprehensive set of 20 project case studies were developed to underline the ability of Banro to deliver in demanding construction environments. Pyramid drove this process with the Banro management team throughout, providing both copywriting and design input as well as physically implementing the campaigns.

Commerial and Technical Director, Henry Woodlock reflected on the process:

"Rolling out the Banro brand across our communication media and developing marketing campaigns has been the most rewarding aspect of our recent development activity. Pyramid bring a dose of creativity and innovation to the process which aligns very closely to the way our design teams operate. It makes for a very dynamic environment and gets the whole team at all levels within the business enthusiastic about the messages we are trying to communicate. This brings out the best content from the team actually delivering the products in both manufacturing and design; Pyramid are unique in their ability to capture that company spirit and convert it into clear copy and visual imagery. The result is a brand and a message that the whole team is proud of, on the shop floor and in the factory. I have never seen such a degree of buy-in within a business to a corporate activity such as this. It is also rare to work with a supplier that not only brings to the table serious design flair, but also a delivery record that we have absolute faith in. They are realistic and clear about deliverables and timescales - once both sides are committed, Pyramid stick to them faithfully."

The ultimate compliment for the result is from the Banro customers, who repeatedly compliment both visual brand and literature/website. The branding has helped Banro punch well above its weight in a highly competitive industry and after a period of sustained rapid growth, Banro won many admirers, leading eventually to a recent acquisition by FTSE-listed construction products group Kingpsan plc.
